Curly Headed Lil' Lamb

If your baby is like mine then (s)he's got bits and pieces of you but looks mostly like your husband. Some of the things Harrison does get from me I feel sorry he had to inherit. Mostly, my bad skin. If we wash him too often, he gets eczema. If we wash him too seldom, he gets blackheads! Poor baby. Miraculously though, Pat can squeeze his blemishes out and he never leaves a mark. Wish it were that way w/ my skin.

Harrison also has my noodle body. This is great when you get older because it makes it easier to keep your weight down. Not so great in junior high when you're punnier than every other kid in your class and you get teased and pushed around, unless of course, you develop a sassy attitude to deter them. I was the shortest and lightest kid in the 7th grade. I know this for certain because our Algebra teacher was teaching us how to do something or other and to illustrate this important mathematical feat that I have long since forgotten, every student was weighed and measured. Ouch. Painful! In the 7th grade?! Can you imagine?!

OK, my husband wants me to quit blogging and come to bed. He just wiped sweat on me to get me out from under the computer. EWWWW! HONEY! GROSS! And after I brought you home a Slurpee?!?

Anyway, I love my little Fuzz man. Thank goodness he has Pat's sunny disposition and cute butt. And my wavy hair. It's looks way better on him than on me!

Bionic Nose

Hello. My name is Alex. I have a bionic nose. That means I can smell things very intensely even if they are far away. My husband doesn't believe me, but my friend Nor does because she also has a bionic nose. The difference between us is that my super-hero smelling powers come and go without warning and hers are ever-present. No, I'm not pregnant.

Here's how I know my nose is bionic: everything makes me gag. When I put on my deodorant in the morning, it's like someone dumped ten thousand star-gazer lily's on my head. I keep whatever shirt I'm wearing that day at the ready so I can throw it on right after to mask the scent of the deodorant. And it's just "Cool Cucumber" Dove.

I can smell the febreeze dryer sheets that are behind closed doors in my laundry room all the way upstairs.

When I walk into the room, I know immediately if Fuzzy needs his diaper changed.

In the middle of Book Club last week, I got up and blew out a Salt City Candle, a tea light and unplugged a glade plug in.

The weird thing is, I don't know when my nose is going to be bionic. Some days I have to be really close to something to smell it, and then I know it's going to be a normal day.

Is it Las Vegas? Does this happen in other towns? Do you have a bionic nose?
